Celebrations!
We have been taking part in celebrating lots of traditions and events over the past couple of months. Firstly we celebrated Diwali, we enjoyed talking about what we celebrate and why. We watched a story that explained all about Diwali, the children loved this and then went on to enjoyed more activities through out the day. The children loved making their own beautiful tea lights out of salt dough and made marks in a brightly coloured glitter tray to represent the bright lights. We also enjoyed bonfire celebrations on bonfire night! All the children made their very own firework pictures and at group time we talked about how to stay safe during bonfire celebrations. On the 8th of November we began our Remembrance day celebrations. We talked about what a poppy represents and the importance of remembering. We got very creative and made different types of poppies. We even got a chance to dress up like a solider! Then to complete our Remembrance day celebrations we visited the war memorial in the local town to lay our poppy wreath the children had made. The children were all really interested in looking at all the poppies and listened as we explained the name of each solider that went to war. On 15th of November we then took part in celebrating children in need. We all came to Pre-school in our pyjamas and took part in lots of Pudsey and Hey Duggee themed activities to raise money for charity. Take a look at the pictures to see all the fun we had!
