Recycling Week at St Marks Preschool!
Last week we spent time promoting Recycling Week in preschool!Recycling is a really important part of what we do at St Marks Preschool and forms part of our wider Sustainability Plan. It’s something we include in our everyday routines, helping the children learn from an early age how they can help to look after our planet. At the end of snack time, the children help to put any food waste into our food waste bin, and throughout the day they help us sort and organise our recycling into the correct boxes and bags. We also spend lots of time chatting about what happens to our recycling once it leaves preschool, why we sort different materials and what could happen to our environment if we didn’t recycle. It was also lovely to see some of our families getting involved too and sharing what they do to recycle at home! We absolutely love seeing the children making those links between preschool and home and hearing all about the different ways our families are helping to look after the environment. Recycling is just one small part of everything we do to make St Marks a more sustainable preschool, but it’s definitely an important one!
